Darlene and the designer, Brandi, who dedicated the past five years to advocating against the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit (MMIW, MMIWGS, MMIP) Together, they initiated impactful projects, such as The REDress Outdoor Installation at The Institute for American Indian Studies Museum. They have collected and hung over 170 red dresses to honor victims, along the Red Trail.
Honored at the State Capitol in Hartford, CT, for their relentless advocacy, both women played pivotal roles in establishing May 5th as REDress Day/MMIP Day in Connecticut with Senator Berthel.
